This was the year Steve Williamson -- or whatever his name was (2nd row on the far
right) got a bloody nose and the peewaddin beat out of him for calling my Sister a jackass.
Sis had come to school and we sang some funny songs together. I was so proud of my Sis
and he went and call her that. Hey, he shouldn't have:-))

 Wow, you can tell I pigtailed my own hair. Funny. Mom got me up and
told me to get dressed. She had to run on over to the airport and work.
Those were the days my friends.

In 1955, the students at Central school were in good hands when they crossed the street. Pat Nichol sent this picture of the crossing guards. The photo was in the  "Herald News Photo and Engraving". The story said that J.M. Heflin, back row, right, received considerable assistance from his youth traffic patrol in his duties of seeing pupils across busy streets in the vicinity of Central school. To show his appreciation for the lads' help, Heflin entertained them with a party at his home.
