Patsy's  Album  -- "In the Wilderness"

Patsy recorded this album in 1977 at the Don Caldwell Studio in Lubbock. The little boy on the front of the album is her son, Gabe. His voice is also featured in the album's title song, "In The Wilderness", which Patsy wrote. Other songs  written by Patsy are "No Thank You, Mister" and "Dodie", which  she wrote in memory of her  brother, Gerald Ragle, who died in 1969 . The Album is dedicated to him.

Susie Butler, a friend of Patsy's wrote "Cajun Love Song". "Don't Speak Lightly" was written by Carrol Johnston (Spudnut Shop owner) and former Plainviewan Keith Longbotham. Kenny Maines, Lubbock, sang the duet with Patsy on "The Door is Always Open".

When the album was released, there was a  local reception/autograph party for Patsy.  My daughter Dondi, who was six at the time, and I were among the first people  in the door!!  Dondi was so excited to know that I was friends with a  "singing star". It was a memorable event for both of us. Fortunately, I still have the original, autographed album.

Thanks, Patsy, for sharing this with us.
